Measles Update
Update 2.13.2026 - There have now been reports of measles exposure in Durham and Orange Counties. Exposure sites can be found on the NC DHHS Website.
- This is still not considered an outbreak and vaccine recommendations have not changed, but please call if you have any questions, we are here to help!
We are aware of reports that measles has made an appearance in Wake and Johnston counties. Our team has been in communication with the local health department and we want to share what families should know:
- At this time, there are 2 documented cases
- This situation does not meet criteria for an outbreak
- There are no changes to current vaccine recommendations
If your child is 12 months of age or older and needs their MMR vaccine, you're welcome to call our office to schedule an appointment. If you are interested in an early dose due to specific concerns or potential exposure, please call to discuss the risks and benefits with our team.
The MMR vaccine remains the best protection against measles, and we encourage families to stay up to date with routine immunizations. You can access your child's immunization record through the FollowMyHealth portal.

UHC Letter
If you have received a letter from UHC, all JMA providers are participating with UHC and are in network!
Flu & COVID Vaccines Now Available
Flu vaccines are now available to all patients. COVID vaccines are available to patients from 6mo-11yrs of age. We are offering vaccines at all well child visits as well as several clinic options.
Patients who received a flu or COVID vaccine at JMA will get a free pass for a 1 hour jump at Big Air.
Messaging with Klara
As your medical home, JMA Pediatrics is excited to announce we have incorporated a communication platform called "Klara". Klara is a HIPAA-compliant, two-way messaging platform that works with our current telephone triage process to simplify electronic communication between JMA Pediatrics and the patient/parent/guardian. Our goal is to offer convenient, exceptional patient experience, and we're confident that Klara will allow us to achieve this.
Optional Mask Policy
Effective Monday, March 13, 2023: You are no longer required to wear a mask while in the office. However, if you have been exposed to COVID and suspect that you may be positive, please be considerate of others and mask-up all those in the office with you who are over 2 years old.
